National Child Data Centre (NCDC) was developed and maintained by the National Child Development Research Centre (NCDRC), Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI), stands as a significant achievement in the realm of child development databases in Malaysia. This web-based platform comprehensively records data on children under 5
years old, childcare centers (TASKA), and staff, facilitating stakeholders like GENIUS, KEMAS, PERPADUAN, YPKT, and JKM in program planning aligned with the PERMATA Curriculum. Prior to NCDC, data was fragmented across various government levels, and its integration now plays a pivotal role in analysis, reporting, and forecasting. The database’s report generation capabilities, including Dynamic Data Mining, ensure comprehensive insights and enhance credibility for end-users such as teachers and parents. Despite the success of NCDC, challenges persist, highlighted by the background revealing that only 40% of TASKA teachers are trained in the PERMATA Curriculum. The integration proposal with Toy8, a Japanese child development assessment application, introduces the complexity of aligning platform and curriculum differences between Malaysia and Japan, underscoring the need for careful refinement before implementation to ensure the seamless integration of these valuable tools for accurate and efficient children’s development data.
