This project aims to identify children between 3 to 4 years that have gifted and talented characteristics and to screen those children using WPPSI-V as the instrument. Pre-screening is done through observation using a checklist listing the characteristics of gifted and talented. A total of 100 children attending 47 Pusat Anak Permata Negara (PAPN) were selected for further screening process using WPPSI-VUK, WPPSI-VUK provides several sub-tests and composite score representing the intellectual function in certain cognitive area. Six main composite scores are available to represent the performance of children in the areas of cognitive function; Verbal Comprehension, Visual Spatial, Fluid Reasoning, Active Memory, Processing Speed and Full Scale IQ. The findings of the screening test showed three children with full-scale composite score (FSIQ) that exceeds 129 (Very High category) and eight children with FSIQ between 120 to 129 marks [High category). Analysis of the findings indicates that majority of the children who were screened scored high marks for Active Memory Index (WMI) and Visual Spatial Index (VSI) but low scores in the Verbal Comprehension Index (VCI). The screening test indicates the existence of the gifted children as young as 3-4 years in PAPN. Therefore, it is an utmost priority for a special program to be introduced so that these children can be given appropriate stimuli according to their capabilities.
