The NCDC system is designed to support quality early childhood care and education, national socio-economic development, policy research and improvement, and strengthen community awareness programs in line with the 10th Malaysia Plan. Therefore, with the support of all parties involved in the NCDRC to lead the empowerment of the NCDC system for Malaysia, the next step is to develop a superior NCDC model. This database stores comprehensive data for children, educators and childcare centers (TASKA) to facilitate stakeholders (PERMATA, JPNIN, KEMAS, YPKT and JKM) in planning and implementing, structured and comprehensive programs in accordance with the Child Care Policy – National Child and Early Childhood Policy which emphasizes holistic development for children under 5 years old and the development of potential children based on the Malaysian model. This project is implemented using a project management approach by dividing each project scope into a mini project with a set of scopes, cost and time period to be completed. Each of these mini projects has followed the project life cycle which consists of the initiation, planning, execution, controlling and monitoring phases and finally the project closure. In summary, NCDC system had eighteen (18) modules that are successfully been produced, which fourteen (14) are from NCDC phase 1 to 3, while four (4) modules from NCDC phase 4. Based on these modules developed, to date, more than 5000 TASKA with data of more than 80,000 children, and more than 20,000 teachers and TASKA operators, have successfully been profiled in this system. Overall, the NCDC system has the potential to be extended as well as commercialized especially in the overseas market. The NCDC system is presently a credible and comprehensive database related to children’s development. Thus, this system needs to be sustained infinitely so that the development of children under five (5) years old can be monitored and profiled continuously. The first five (5) years of children’s life is very important so that early detection and necessary interventions can be done to help with their holistic development. Last not least, the data collated in the NCDC can help with the formulation of acts or policies related to development and health of children as a whole and more effectively implemented.
